Several years ago in a fit of nerdrage, I came up with the idea for a story in which entire villages of light elves were being slaughtered in the night. Everyone is horrified and a number of brigades are assembled to apprehend the fiend(s) in question. Mostly humans, because it’s obvious that the killer(s) are human and the rest of the scruffy little bastards need to make up for this transgression.
…You’ve probably sussed out the truth from that last sentence.
