Vanille poses/moves/dances like an idol. (For the uninformed, think of a twentysomething behaving as if she was still “Mommy’s favorite eight-year-old ballerina”.) I won’t count the way she runs since I don’t want anyone to get alcohol poisoning.

Take a sip

Snow bangs on about protecting something. (listen for any form of the phrase mamoru, or look for the kanji 守)
Hope starts a sentence but doesn’t have the balls to finish it.
Vanille makes some completely unnecessary “cute” sound while exerting effort.
Vanille tries to cheer the party up.
Someone mentions the l’Cie’s Focus. (listen for the phrase shimei, or look for the kanji 使命)
The camera focuses on someone’s hand(s).
…if they’re making/tightening a fist, take another sip.

If you are a Windows user upgrading to Creative Suite 4 Design Standard from any edition of Creative Suite 1.x or 2.x, buy the upgrade with the product number 65019872.

Adobe refused to give me this number so I could be certain the product I ordered from a less-expensive-than-their-store reseller was the correct one. Luckily, it was—so I am posting it on the internet, because there is no good reason whatsoever why this information should be withheld from anyone.

By the way, if you planned on waiting until later this year to make the big jump from CS1 to CS5? Don’t. Per Adobe’s “three-versions-back product upgrade policy”:

For individual products [and Creative Suites], you can upgrade from up to three versions back. For example, if you have Illustrator CS, CS2, or CS3, you are eligible for the upgrade price for Illustrator CS4. If you have an earlier version, for example, Illustrator 9 or 10, you are not eligible. The exception is Adobe Premiere Pro; you are eligible to upgrade from any earlier version to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

For individual products [and Creative Suites], if you have a version earlier than three versions back, you are not eligible for upgrade pricing — you will need to pay the full retail price.

I ordered these three photobooks recently—from top: Discovery of Ruins, Factory Moe, and Factory Moe-F. Why? Because I love busted shit, factories, and busted factories. They’re idea books.

I’ll probably post about them separately at some point.

After ordering these I got the bright idea to check Amazon for inspirational photobooks in a language I understand…but they all seem to be hardcover, which I’m wary of. A book’s ease (and thus, frequency) of use has always been inversely proportional to its weight for me, so hardcovers have to be that much better (or that much cheaper) for me to bother.

Any suggestions?

This is a rather unflattering picture of an unexpected Valentine’s Day present. A loaf of chocolate bread. With chocolate chips. It is basically one giant double-chocolate muffin.

The first few bites of that massive hunk I cut off were fantastic. The next ones…errh, not so much.
