I defended its beautiful stills all over the place because I understood painfully well how much work was going into keeping things 2D. But now that I’ve seen it in motion? Yeah, whatever. It’s really clunky-looking and at points the game animations deteriorate to like…early PS1 3D fighter level. (Raiden’s critical counter? BARFFF)
Aaaand they’ll be using these sprites for the next eleven years, so I guess there’s no point in me hoping they’ll hire 2D animators next time. :/
