This is a pretty good film. I think it deserves to be on any cartoon fan’s “it’s definitely not perfect but you SHOULD see this” list, like Akira. It feels a little bit like Bakshi gets bored or antsy at some points, since this isn’t a fantasy movie like a lot of his others, and throws in a psychadelic break or some other fantastic elements because WHEE FUN RIGHT?...

My scanner brought this image in perfectly, previewed the next, and then stoutly refused to acknowledge that anything was on the bed. …This is the first time in a full decade that I’ve been scannerless! I feel like somebody stole my clothes while I was taking a bath. :<
